Celebs jailed and bailed
Award winning chef and creator of the world’s most expensive pizza Domenico Crolla was jailed this morning for undisclosed offences and is being held with Tommy Sheridan, Mohammad Sarwar, Dave Anderson and Julyan Sinclair.
Big hearted Domenico, who this week sold a pizza for £4,400 in aid of charity, has allowed leading children’s charity NCH to lock him up and throw away the key – almost.
Domenico is taking part in Glasgow’s ‘Jail and Bail’ fundraising event in aid the children’s charity. He was
taken by police escort to Glasgow City Chambers this morning where he is being held pending provision of bail which has been set at £1,000.
Domenico said: “It's been a long time coming, but it's finally happened – I’m I jail. It’s just a shame that it’s on my daughter’s 18th birthday.”
Commenting on his arrest Domenico said: “They took me by surprise but I’m more than happy to do my bit – even if it means sharing a prison cell with Tommy Sheridan, Mohammad Sarwar, Dave Anderson and Julyan Sinclair.”
NCH fundraiser Clare Pieroni who is organising the event said: “This is going to be a lot of fun and, hopefully, a unique experience for everybody. All our felons can be assured of a comfortable stay in jail as we swap bread and water for champagne and a great lunch.
“We’re hoping that our captor’s friends and colleagues dig deep to bail them out for this good cause: supporting NCH’s work with thousands of disadvantaged children and young people across Scotland.”
The charity hopes to raise £15,000 from the fun event.
The money raised by this event will contribute to NCH Scotland’s ‘Growing Strong Appeal’ which aims to raise an ambitious £500,000 to help boost the emotional wellbeing of children and young people across Scotland.
