13/11/06 - REFRESHING NEW SPONSORSHIP DEAL FOR SCOTTISH BALLET DANCERS
Scottish Ballet principal dancer Erik Cavallari will be creating a splash this winter as he starts a new sponsorship deal with premium natural mineral water company Suio.
Suio, a Scottish-Italian family owned company who market their water from Scotland, will be providing enough bottles of their zero nitrate, high mineral water to fuel the entire Scottish Ballet company for the 2006-2007 season as part of their sponsorship of 29-year-old Erik.
For Erik and his colleagues, who train up to eight hours per day, six days a week, hydration is essential for good health and optimum performance. It is hoped that Suio water, approved by the Italian Ministry of Health, will keep the dancers refreshed.
The Company’s forthcoming seasonal ballet Cinderella, which opens in Glasgow this December, stars Erik in the lead role as the dashing Prince and will see him performing alongside evil stepmother, Eve Mutso, another of the Company’s sponsored dancers. Scottish Ballet’s development team is keen to see more companies and individuals stepping forward to offer their support to other dancers within the Company.
Sponsor a dancer scheme creates unique relationships
Charlotte di Corpo, Head of Development at Scottish Ballet said:
“Our Sponsor a Dancer scheme really can provide a beneficial relationship between two organisations, and we think carefully about the pairings that we make. Scottish Ballet has been commended for the strength of such partnerships, only weeks ago Edinburgh jewellers Hamilton & Inches received the Arts & Business First Time Arts Sponsorship Award for their sponsorship of dancer Eve Mutso.
“Companies who sponsor a dancer receive a wide range of benefits, from special opening night ticket packages, to exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into how Scotland’s National Dance Company works.”
Suio water refreshes dancers, singers and sports stars
Tony Vezza, chairman of Suio said:
“To link up with an exceptional dancer like Erik is a great opportunity for Suio, and we are glad that the dancers will benefit from our water, which is high in minerals like calcium and magnesium, essential for bones, heart and muscle health. This is just the start of our relationship and we are looking forward to working closely with both Erik and Scottish Ballet.”
Many other organisations across Scotland rely on Suio to keep their performers and players hydrated and fit for action, including Scottish Athletics and Scottish Premier League football teams Dundee United, Dunfermline and St Mirren.
